It's all about love

When LP comes to visit us it's always a special treat for Jumpin' J. This time she came we took her to Playtown where they both had an amazing time!

Auntie Erika and Mommy got to go have girl time together and brought home presents for everyone. And then Uncle Mike and Daddy went to see a scary movie together. All in all, we have to say that everyone had a GREAT weekend!!!! See you soon, we miss you already!!!

I get by with a little help...

From my friends!!!

LP is such a big helper when it comes to helping J, we're so lucky to have her around!!!

Peetsy with Yiyee

Stringing words is a relatively new concept in my little one's life. To string words means to start to make them into sentences for all you non-parents out there in blogging land ;) The latest two aren't exactly a full sentence but they impress me all the same... he says "Peetsy Yiyee"!

Last week we met up with Auntie Erika and YiYee for lunch so that we could exchange presents and get their car seat that fits in airplane seats. They were at Yiyee's Grandpa's house so we met them part of their way home and had pizza for lunch! So to translate "Peetsy Yiyee" is Jumpin' J's reminder to me that we had pizza with Yiyee for lunch the other day and is also usually a not so subtle clue that he would like to do that again soon! Since they are both social butterflies J's and Yiyee's schedule has to be carefully coordinated so that we can meet up! Hopefully we can work it out so that we can again soon!!!!

Mike Mike Mike

So we recently had lunch with Auntie Erika and Yiyee which was a blast for all four of us. And on the way home Jumpin' J was getting fussy so I dug around and came up with the NYPD police car that we had picked up for J on our Anniversary. He was happily playing with it when I decided to tell him that Yiyee's Daddy aka Uncle Mike drives police cars. I could almost hear his little mind whirling in the back seat! So then the next day he again plays with the police car and announces "Mike" which I obediently agree that "Yes, Uncle Mike drives a police car". That just started the Mike Fountain as I now call it. Apparently Uncle Mike drives any type of car with a siren so any time we see an ambulance, fire truck, or police car he shouts out "Mike, Mike, Mike". It's so cute that I don't have the heart to tell him that Uncle Mike doesn't actually drive ALL of them so I just agree! There's a fitting tribute to Uncle Mike our favorite policeman!!!

Red Sox on the 4th of July

Jumpin' J, his dad, and I joined the LilyPad Family for a Red Sox-Yankees game on the 4th of July at Yankee Stadium. What can be more American to do on the 4th but to go to a baseball game?

Yankee Stadium is closing after this season and opening a new park right across the street so was awesome to get to sit right on field level in the outfield for J's first and last game in this stadium. Plus the seats are between the outfield and the visitor's warm up pitching area so we got to see everyone go by to pitch!!

Trip to the Ocean

Jumpin J', J's dad, and I went to visit the LilyPad Family at Pop Steve's beach house on Tuesday night. It was a great time, so great that we forgot the camera most of the time!

Our time at the beach was super fun despite the incident where I dropped the coffee pot and broke it, Sorry!!! Jumpin' J loved the beach and the park and generally just hanging out with LP, whom he thinks is just the coolest big girl he's ever met. Thanks to the LilyPad Family and Pop Steve for letting us come visit!!

I'll try to post about the Red Sox-Yankees game tonight or tomorrow!

Going to the Beach and a Red Sox Game

Tonight when Jumpin' J's dad gets home from work we're leaving to go to CT to the beach for a couple of days. We're staying at Pop Steve's house which he is kindly letting us invade. Pop Steve is one of our friend LilyPad Princess' grandpas. Here is a picture of PopSteve, Jumpin' J, and LilyPad Princess last July!

Then on the Fourth of July we are going with LilyPad Princess and her mom and dad to a Red Sox vs. Yankees game at Yankee Stadium! It will be J's first and last game there since they are closing it at the end of this season and building a brand new park. We get great tickets when we go with the LilyPad Family so it should be a really fun game.

Have a great 4th everyone and we'll see you when we get back!

The Explosion of Pink Has Left the Building

Explosion of Pink

We had such a great weekend with the Lilypad Family. Jumpin’ J was endlessly fascinated with Lilypad Princess. When we went for a walk he just wanted to hold her hand and "talked" as if telling her all about his neighborhood, it was really cute!

Holding Hands

And LP seemed to be just as taken with “her baby J” as he was with her. When J’s settled in to read with his daddy, LP climbed right up too so she could enjoy the story.

Story Time

Although I wear pink there isn’t usually a lot of pink in the house. But this weekend there was pink and girly stuff all over. I’m not sure Jumpin’ J knew what to make of all of LP’s dress up clothes and princess dolls. He definitely liked LP’s cars and airplanes though.

LP's Princesses

And now with LP and her parents gone the house looks surprisingly empty without the explosion of pink. Good thing J has the full-length mirror in our bedroom so he has a friend his own age to talk to.

Matching PJs

Jumpin' J has several pairs of PJs from the store where LP Mom works because she gets a great deal on them. Last night before we left for the game I left a pair of PJs out for J's dad to dress him in for bed. And when we got up this morning I had to laugh when Lilypad Princess came up the stairs in the pink PJs that matched J's blue ones. They really are so cute together. I think that J wants to be just like LP. He follows her everywhere she goes and sometimes he just stares at her in fascination. I guess she must be super cool because she's 2 and a half to his almost one. This morning they read books and played zoo and played on the firetruck and ate Cheerios! All in all it was a multitude of adventures and they are both currently sleeping to regenerate for an afternoon of play!

Mom's Night Out!!

I am a lucky lady because Jumpin' J's dad gave me a pair of his Red Sox tickets to take Lilypad Mom to a Red Sox-Yankees game last night. Because the LilyPad Family lives 3 hours away we really don't get to see them as much as we would like and we miss them a lot!
He and Lilypad Dad stayed home to watch Jumpin' J and Lilypad Princess.
The Moms had an awesome time at the game despite some rain and a Red Sox loss. Well actually Lilypad Mom is a crazy Yankees fan so she was happy with the final 3-1 score.
We went to the new Cheesecake Factory in Natick and found we both LOVED their Avocado Eggrolls and spent some much needed time catching up. We got home at waaaayyy past our normal bedtime to find J's dad on the computer but Lilypad Dad and both kids were fast asleep. I guess the Dads will have to enjoy their cheesecake today.
